New for 2015- JetBlue Airways will be flying direct from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Reno-Tahoe International Airport starting May 28, 2015. 
Thomas Cook Airlines will be running the first ever direct flight from Reno-Tahoe International Airport to London, England. This twice-a-week service begins December 19, 2015.

For those who choose to arrive by car, lush forests, scenic mountains, and Lake Tahoe's pristine beauty highlight the trip to Heavenly. Highway 50 provides direct, all-weather access.

Driving Directions:

Reno - 1-1/4 hours
Take US-395/580 S toward Carson City. Merge onto US-395/580 S via EXIT 57B toward VIRGINIA CITY / CARSON CITY / SOUTH LAKE TAHOE. Take Fairview Drive Exit, Exit 38. Turn Right onto Fairview Drive/US 395/US 50. Turn Left onto South Carson St/US 395 S/US 50 W. Turn Right onto US-50 West/Lake Tahoe Blvd. Continue on Lake Tahoe Blvd. Pass the California/Nevada state line. California access is at the Gondola in Heavenly Village on Highway 50 and also via Ski Run Blvd. to the California Base Lodge.

Sacramento - 2 hours
Follow U.S. Highway 50 East to junction of U.S. Highway 89 North. Continue on Highway 50 making right hand turn, following the bend in the road. Drive approximately 5 miles to Ski Run Blvd. Turn right and follow the signs to Heavenly!

San Francisco - 3-1/2 hours
Follow Interstate 80 East to Sacramento. Continue on I-80 until the junction of U.S. Highway 50 East. Follow U.S. Highway 50 East to the junction of Highway 50 and U.S. Highway 89 N. Continue on Highway 50 making a right hand turn, following the bend in the road. Drive approximately 5 miles to Ski Run Boulevard. Turn right and follow the signs to Heavenly!

San Jose - 3-1/2 hours
Follow Interstate 680 North to Interstate 580 East towards Oakland and Stockton until Interstate 205. Take Interstate 205 exit towards Tracy and Stockton. Drive approximately 12.5 miles and take the Interstate 5 North exit. Take I-80 BR/US 50/CA 99 RAMP towards San Francisco and South Lake Tahoe. Stay straight on Highway 50 E until intersection of Highway 89 North. Continue on Highway 50 making a right hand turn, following the bend in the road. Drive approximately 5 miles to Ski Run Boulevard. Turn right and follow the signs to Heavenly!

Los Angeles - 8 hours
Follow U.S. Highway 395 North to Bishop, CA and then to Minden, NV. Turn Left on NV-88. Turn Right at NV-207/Mottsville LN. Continue to follow NV-207/Kingsbury Grade. At the top of Kingsbury turn left on Tram Way Drive and drive approximately 2 miles to Stagecoach Lodge. Or, after starting the descent on Kingsbury Grade, turn left on South Benjamin and drive approximately 1 mile to Boulder Lodge or continue on Kingsbury Grade to the Intersection of U.S. Highway 50 West. California access is at the gondola in Heavenly Village on Highway 50 and also via Ski Run Blvd. to the California Base Lodge.

Amtrak in the Bay Area offers both train and bus service into South Lake Tahoe. Amtrak also serves Reno, NV. Visit for more information.

Getting Around Heavenly

BlueGO Heavenly ski shuttles include seven different routes in the Stateline area of South Lake Tahoe, California and Stateline, Nevada. The shuttles pick up at each of our signed shuttle stops. Please allow extra time when riding the shuttles during holidays and Saturdays, as they are in peak demand during these periods.

  • BlueGO Heavenly ski shuttles make stops at most major lodging properties, including all six casinos with connections to the South Tahoe Express Reno airport shuttle and to Heavenly's base facilities: the California Base Lodge, the base of the Gondola at Heavenly Village, and Stagecoach and Boulder Lodges in Nevada.
  • The shuttles pick-up at each stop, typically every 15 to 30 minutes, weather permitting. Look for the white BlueGO Heavenly shuttle stop signs or check with the front desk at your lodging property for Heavenly Ski Shuttle details.
  • Express shuttle service is also available from the Heavenly Gondola to the California Lodge daily via the Orange route.
  • All shuttles are free, wheelchair accessible and can accommodate bicycles. Shuttles are open to all riders and generally operate from late November to early May.

Bay Area Ski Bus


Bay Area Ski Bus has been the premier shuttle-bus service from the San Francisco Bay Area to Heavenly since 1996!  The luxury Bay Area Ski Bus buses run every Saturday, every Sunday and one weekday per week with pick up locations in San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Sunnyvale, Foster City, Pleasanton and San Rafael. The buses are stylish and comfortable with a restroom, multiple TVs for movies, and of course, are run by professional drivers and hosts!  So, avoid all the hassles of the early morning drive, driving in the snow and putting on chains, and the tiring drive home and hop on the Bay Area Ski Bus. It's convenient, safe and most of all Fun.  Costs include lift ticket, transportation, continental breakfast and after-ski refreshments. Subject to change.

Route 1: Foster City – San Francisco – Concord to Tahoe. Route 2: Milpitas – Pleasanton – Concord to Tahoe.
