Adventure Ropes Courses

Adventure Ropes Courses

All Heavenly activities are closed for the summer.

Test your skills as you conquer one of the three new ropes courses, featuring rope bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets, ladders, walkways and other climbing features, all within the safety of a harness. Each course varies in difficulty and provides a different experience, like the unique tree-based ropes course that tests limits while climbing over and around trees. While each course is self-guided, professional staff are on-sight to serve as experiential guides during this challenging adventure.

All activities are weather-dependent, please call 1800-Heavenly for the most current information.

What to Wear

While navigating through the ropes challenge courses you will be climbing up, on, over, through various features. We recommend you wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily. Please also remember to dress in layers. The mountain air will be cooler at the top and on the observation deck than in town.

Please note: closed toe, athletic shoes are required to participate in our ropes courses.

Discovery Forest Ropes Course

Located in the wooded area behind the Bear Cave, the Discovery Forest Ropes Course is a tree-top ropes course adventure that is fully integrated into the natural environment. This course brings the beauty of the National Forest up close and personal as you move around and through natural and man-made obstacles in the trees.

You'll exit this course two at a time on a side-by-side tandem zip line or on a 20-foot controlled descent to the ground. The course takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Must be at least 42 inches tall, 5 years old, and between 20 and 250 lbs.

Boulder Cove Ropes Course

The Boulder Cove Ropes Course, located at the bottom of the Gondola stairs, is designed for the adventurer wanting to pursue a greater challenge. Featuring two levels, this course allows participants of all skill levels to progress to the higher, more difficult level if they choose.

This course is recommended for adults and older children and ends with either a 20-foot controlled descent or, for those seeking more of a thrill, a 35-foot descent. The course takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Must be at least 42 inches tall, 5 years old, and between 20 and 250 lbs.

Black Bear Ropes Course

The Black Bear Ropes Course is located near the Bear Cave Children’s Ski and Ride School building and features challenges that are not as long as the other two ropes courses, making it ideal for families with younger children, smaller participants, or first-timers. With a variety of routes to choose from, this ropes course will inspire the most daring guest and create an appetite for adventure.

This course ends with a 30-foot controlled descent. The course takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Must be at least 42 inches tall, 5 years old, and between 20 and 250 lbs.
