Breweries
For decades the lake has been the premier attraction in South Lake Tahoe, however the new brewery scene is quickly becoming the talk of the town. Over 7 breweries and taprooms have popped up recently, making South Lake Tahoe a destination for beautiful views and tasty brews.
Here are some of our favorite breweries and taprooms in town:
Stateline
Lake Tahoe AleWorX
Highlights: Similar to the wristband activated self-pour system at the original location by the “Y” (see below), you can sample a range of rotating taps with a flick of a wrist in the heart of downtown as well. Pair your beer with delicious pizzas, small bites and salads or simply stop in for a cocktail from their full-service bar that is only available at this location.

Local’s Tip: If you time it out right, you can score the front VIP booth with a private tap and full view of the casino strip! It’s a great spot for people watching while you sample some of the region’s hard-to-find beers.
Folk Brewery
Highlights: Not a beer fan? Perhaps try South Lake Tahoe’s first Kombucha brewery! Folk Brewery offers 8 kombucha flavors on draft and a warm welcoming vibe that will make you feel like family the minute you walk in.
Features: Outside food welcome, kid friendly, pet friendly
Local’s Tip: Word on the street is the Jazzy Pineapple Basil Martini is so delicious you can’t help but salute your pinkie to the kombucha gods in praise!
Mid-Town
Sidellis Brewery
Highlights: An absolute favorite of any South Lake local, Sidellis brewery specializes in rotating small-batch brews, good company and tasty pub grub. Their friendly staff, awesome board game selection and family-style picnic seating will make you feel like you never left home.
Features: Full pub food menu, communal games, outdoor patio, kid friendly, pet friendly outside
Local’s Tip: Aside from the delicious craft beers and friendly locals, the food will surely win you over (if the beer doesn’t first). Be sure to try the Brewben with a side of beef and bean chili – it’s a gut bomb but sooooo worth it!!!
Cold Water Brewery and Grill
Highlights: Conveniently located in the middle of town, Cold Water is a perfect blend of good food, friendly staff and relaxed dining. Their full bar and killer beer menu are simply an added bonus.

Local’s Tip: We’ll keep this short and sweet – Mr. Toads Wild Rye – hands down one of their best brews and it’s always on tap!
The Hangar
Highlights: Relaxed modern-chic design, good selection of local breweries on tap, friendly staff and just dang cute!

Local’s Tip: If you happen to catch a sunny day in Tahoe, this place is notorious for soaking up California rays, chilling out and sipping tasty craft beers from the region. It’s just a good down-home spot to mingle with friends and enjoy the Sierras.
The "Y"
Lake Tahoe AleWorX
Highlights: With a wristband activated self-pour system, sample one or more of the 30 rotating taps with a flick of a wrist. Pair your beer with delicious pizzas, small bites and salads or simply kick back next to the outdoor firepits while you sample some of the region’s tastiest brews.

Local’s Tip: You can’t go wrong with the food or beer selection here, your toughest decision of the day will be whether to order the Uovo or the Avventura.
South Lake Brewing Company
Highlights: Simply a tasting room done right! Locals and travelers love this place, and for good reason, it has some of the town’s tastiest craft beers. Whether you’re into playing games with friends and family or petting lots of adorable pups, you’ll likely encounter both at this town hot spot.

Local’s Tip: Grab a to-go burrito from Verde Mexican Rotisserie around the corner and pair it with a cold Fog Nozzle IPA... Heaven will feel near.
Tahoe PourHouse
Highlights: Just in case you thought all hope was lost, 20 wines on tap also exists. Situated directly across the patio of Lake Tahoe AleWorkX, Tahoe PourHouse provides a perfect solution for mixed parties that fancy beer and wine, but not one or the other. Couple that fact with delicious food and live music, it’s a win-win for everyone.

Local’s Tip: If your sweetheart, friends or family can’t make up their minds, this location is a surefire slam dunk. 25 craft beers on tap at Lake Tahoe AleWorX and 20 wines on tap at Tahoe PourHouse, plus good food on either side… it’s a no brainer if you ask us!
