Day Care Information
Heavenly Day Care is a CA State licensed program (facility numbers: 093604118, 093604119). Heavenly Day Care provides on-site, high quality care for children ages 6-weeks through 6-years old and is open during the winter ski season. The Day Care Center is only located at the CA Base Lodge at Heavenly Mountain Resort. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. We suggest making reservations 1-2 months in advance, especially for infants and toddlers less than 30 months of age and during all holiday periods. Full Day Reservations are available online. All half-day programs can be booked by calling 1-800-HEAVENLY, ext 6912 - Day Care. 
Our qualified early childhood staff will assist children to learn via a rich, stimulating environment, based on developmentally appropriate curriculum, which allows them to build on their strengths, interests and emerging abilities. We believe that children, when encouraged and given the opportunity to make choices through play, helps develop the whole child including physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. Our goal is to provide appropriate meaningful play experiences that contribute to the individual developmental needs of the child.
Program Activities
We will provide supervision, and entertainment with a variety of age appropriate play activities. These include independent small and large group activities involving: art, dramatic play, science, music and movement, circle time, small manipulatives, puppet play, stories and storytelling, rest time, nutrition and cooking, and of course outdoor adventure time, too. Winter ski clinics are available for certain age groups.
Day Care & Ski Program Combinations
Ski/Play Program
Children ages 3 and 4 may participate in this program. It is designed to start children with a positive first time ski experience. The children will be in very small playgroups of 3 or 4 children for a 1-hour ski clinic. They will have their own professional skiing coach, one per small group. The clinic includes an introduction to skiing through play. The children will visit the Enchanted Forest, be introduced to their skis and the sliding movement. This is an excellent opportunity to create great self-esteem and for the children to begin their skiing careers.
Ski Play Eligibility
Children need to be at least three years old and potty trained and is a good indicator that their gross motor development is ready for the introduction to skiing.
Half-&-Half Program
This program is available for 4 & 5 year olds. The half & half design accommodates those children that aren't quite ready for a whole day of skiing adventure. The child will participate in a morning 2-hour ski clinic and then return to the classroom for lunch and play away the afternoon. This program is designed for the child that has possibly participated in the Ski/Play Program and is ready for a little more skiing adventure. This program opportunity is for the older preschooler or kindergartner that has the stamina for an extended ski quest.
Nanny for a Day Program
This program allows families the peace of mind of having one-on-one care for their young child(ren). One caregiver will accompany the child enrolled in the program throughout the day. This unique specialized care option will enable the child to play in a group setting with one qualified early childhood educator. The individual attention the child receives is priceless.

*Advance reservations can be made online or by calling 1-800-HEAVENLY for a $25 savings. Online Reservations include the $25 savings off the Same Day Walk-in price. Please be advised that space is limited and advance reservations are required to guarantee a place in the program. We suggest booking 1-2 months in advance especially for infant & toddler programs and all programs during holiday periods.

Additional Information
Nutrition & Food Service
We provide nutritious snacks & lunches for your children. Children under 12 months of age should have their food provided by the parents. Mothers may come to the center at any time to breastfeed their infants or toddlers. Breast milk and formula needs to be supplied by the parents. Specialty food items may be brought in for children with allergies.
Eligibility for Enrollment
Children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years old are eligible for enrollment. Children need not be toilet trained, unless enrolled in a ski program. Please bring a fully stocked diaper bag if needed. Infants (12 months and under) need to have their own food supplied. Children with special needs will be assessed on an individual basis prior to registration or reservation. Children need to be socially and emotionally ready for a day care program.
Reservations Required
Reservations are Required. We suggest making reservations 1-2 months in advance, especially for infants and toddlers less than 30 months of age and during all holiday periods. Reservations may be made online or by calling 1-800-HEAVENLY. Valid credit card information is required to secure a reservation. Please be prepared with you child(rens) date of birth, medications, allergies and/or special needs.
Cancellation Policy
Heavenly Day Care requires a 48-hour cancellation or change notice. Without a full 48-hour notice you will be charged a $75 service fee. Same day cancellations or any no call no shows for any reason, including weather or illness, will be charged the full amount of each child's reserved program.
Weather Policy
Weather can be very unpredictable. There are no refunds due to weather conditions. If your reservation is specifically dependent upon snow conditions please keep in mind the 48-hour cancellation policy still applies, regardless of the weather, as there are many other Tahoe activities you could participate in while we are still providing care for your children.
Late Fee Policy
Late fees may be assessed at $1.00 a minute past your child's designated pick up time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sick Policy
If your child is sick, he or she will not be allowed to attend Day Care. Children must be 24-hour fever free. They must also be clear of congestion and infection. Signs and symptoms that exclude a child from attending the program may include but are not limited to: colored mucous, excessive diarrhea, fever, change in behavior, lethargy. If children show signs of illness while enrolled, parents will be contacted to pick up their children early.

It is the policy of Heavenly to not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, sex, physical handicap, religion, creed, color, national origin or language.
Location
Heavenly Day Care Center is located at the west end mid-floor of the California Base Lodge at Heavenly Mountain Resort. 3860 Saddle Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 Please note: The CA Base Lodge is the only location of child care at Heavenly and for our Ski Play or Half & Half Programs.
Ratios of Staff to Children
Heavenly Day Care is licensed by the State of California to operate at a 1:4 (Infants & Toddlers) or 1:12 (for Preschoolers) ratio of staff to children. We keep a 1:3 ratio for infants and toddlers (ages 6 weeks to 30 months), 1:6 ratio for preschoolers (ages 2.5 to 6 years), 1:4 for Ski /Play clinics, & 1:5 for Half & Half Ski clinics. The Nanny for a Day program offers 1:1 care. Our Infant/Toddler program has a classroom enrollment size of 12 children and the Preschool classroom can have up to 32 children enrolled.
Day Care Cancellation/Change Policy
Heavenly Day Care requires a full 48-hour cancellation or change notice. Without a full 48-hour notice, you will be charged a $75 service fee. The full amount of each child's reserved program(s) will be charged for any same day cancellations/changes or any "No Call No Shows," for whatever reason (including weather and /or illness).
