Food and Beverage
Attention to quality service and strong interpersonal skills are a necessity to be a part of the Food and Beverage team. We have six lodges that have food & beverage operations, three in California and three in Nevada. Additionally, a smaller concessionaire outlet is located in California. Two lodges require that you ski to work (intermediate skiing/boarding ability and own equipment required) with certain positions consisting of outdoor work only. Wait staff and bartending positions are very limited.
- Prep Cook � Assist in food preparation and supply line with food product. No experience required.
- Line Cook � Prepare customer orders. Experience required.
- Lead Cook � Supervise line and prep cooks; assist in all aspects of food production and purchasing; quality control of line service and food product. Experience required.
- Cashier � Collect money and operate cash register; balance daily bank. Prior cash handling experience is helpful but not required; training available; heavy customer contact.
- Line Server � Serve food orders over the counter to customers; take orders for cook preparation; duties may vary depending on the lodge.
- Bus Person � Clean tables and floor area; assist floor and kitchen staff as needed.
- Cleaning Attendant � Clean the lodges and janitorial work; snow removal and other duties.
- Warehouse Clerk � Receive supplies and deliver orders to all food & beverage outlets; collection and proper disposal of mountain lodge refuse. Bending, stooping, and heavy lifting required; clean drivers license required; limited positions available.
Parking and Guest Service
Our attendants help direct all arriving people to the most convenient parking spaces, offer resort information, and give directions to Heavenly's many amenities.
- Parking Attendant � The first step of arrival at Heavenly is finding a safe and easily accessible parking place. Direct guests to the proper parking areas; answer immediate questions for guests; clear snow and ice from high foot traffic areas in parking lots. Must be willing to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
- Guest Service Host/Hostess Our guests often have a variety of questions and concerns or simply need information. Guest service hosts and hostesses are available to listen and help guests. They must be able to assist guests with questions, complaints, problems, lost and found, voucher and ticket reimbursement. A friendly, patient, helpful attitude is necessary at all times. The host/hostess is responsible for ski check service of customer equipment at different lodges on the mountain. Heavy customer contact; must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. These positions require both indoor and outdoor work.
Mountain Operations
Lift Operations
A chair lift, surface lift, or tram is a large, complex machine used in the transportation of skiers and riders. The positions require attentive teamwork to load and unload passengers safely and prevent damage to the equipment. Mechanical and/or prior experience is helpful. Training is available. The ability to work with the public is a must. Must be willing to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
- Security Officer � Monitor grounds and lodges 24 hours per day. Assist in disputes; locker problems; vehicle accident reporting and special event admittance. Day/swing/graveyard shifts available; prior experience required; limited positions available.
- Terrain Park Attendant Oversee and maintain safe operation of the Terrain Parks. Identify and take action to resolve hazards, obstacles for guest and employee safety. Must be an advanced snowboarder/skier an be able to ride all Terrain Parks. Great customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with guests is required.
- Lift Attendant Load and unload customers on and off the chairlift; shovel and remove snow; maintain ramp area; control lift line; provide information to customers
- Lift Operator Operate chairlifts at the top or bottom; complete all machinery and safety checks; acts as a team leader and perform all attendant duties. Experience required.
- Detachable Operator Operate detachable quad chairlifts at top or bottom; complete all machinery and safety checks; must know start up and shut down procedures of detachable quads; acts as team leader and performs all attendant duties; trained by and reports to Lift Maintenance. Experience required.
Scenic Gondola
Heavenly's eight-passenger gondola offers spectacular views while traveling almost 3 miles and 3000 vertical feet for sightseeing and skiing/riding. Our attendants and operators must be able to answer questions about the Lake Tahoe area and the resort. They must enjoy working with the public and remain safety conscious. The positions require attentive teamwork to load and unload passengers in a safe, efficient and courteous manner while taking precautions to avoid damage to the equipment. Mechanical aptitude and prior lift experience are necessary. Must be willing to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
- Gondola Attendant Assist passengers in loading/unloading from the gondola cabin; assist operators and mechanics in parking the cabins before and after the public operations; maintain gondola loading/unloading areas; dispense resort information to guests; snow removal.
- Gondola Operator Operate gondola at top, mid and bottom stations; work with mechanics to complete all machinery and safety checks; must know start up/shutdown procedures, and daily running/operating procedures; acts as a team leader and performs all attendant duties; trained by and reports to gondola maintenance. Experience as a detachable lift operator necessary.
Ski Tram
Heavenly's Aerial Tram offers spectacular views while our guests prepare for a day of skiing and riding. Our attendants must be able to answer questions about the Lake Tahoe area and the resort, enjoy working with the public, and remain safety conscious.
- Attendant � Operate and attend Tram cars; load and unload passengers on and off the Tram; control lines; assure proper ticket purchase and pass use by the correct person; snow removal; answer guest questions and provide general area information. Lift attendant/operation experience and/or mechanical background helpful.
- Operator Operate Tram, complete all machinery and safety checks, answer guest's questions, perform all attendant duties. Experience required.
Ski Patrol
Safety for everyone at Heavenly is of paramount concern to our Patrol staff. Heavenly Ski Patrol is responsible for the care and transport of injured skiers in addition to the promotion of safety on the mountain. Expert skiing ability is required for Skier Safety and EMT or higher medical certification is required for Ski Patrol. Must be willing to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
- Ski Patroller Patrol the mountain for safety hazards; snow safety and avalanche control; perform any immediate first aid care and transport injured skiers to first aid stations. Prior Patroller experience is required; limited positions available.
- Skier Safety Monitor and warn people when they may be skiing too fast or in a reckless manner. Assist patrollers in accident response and transport. Entry level for Patroller positions; limited positions available.
Snowmaking
Snowmaking allows our ski area to create an early base of snow and guarantees snow all season, even in low snowfall years. What Mother Nature fails to provide in feet of that coveted powder, our snowmaking system provides. Snowmakers predominantly work outside and at night in below freezing temperatures. Prior snowmaking experience or a strong irrigation background is helpful, training available. Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions and hours are dependent on weather.
- Snowmaker Make snow and operate snow guns/fan guns; move pipe and hoses; adjust pressure and nozzles of hydrants; may assist other departments in various projects as needed.
- Operator Monitor air compressor and water pump gauges; strong machinery and electrical background helpful.
Race
Heavenly hosts several events and races each winter season. The Race department organizes all ski and snowboard events including Coin-Op Racing. Must be willing to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions. Limited positions available.
- Race Coach Provide race clinics as requested; set courses; USSA Coach Level 1 certification and advanced skiing ability required.
- Race Crew Assist coaches in setting courses; coordinate event organization; heavy carrying required while skiing; race background helpful.
Vehicle Operations and Grooming
Several types of machinery and heavy equipment are used in the operation of Heavenly. Heavy equipment experience is required to operate our snow cats and mechanical experience is required to work on our street and mountain vehicles.
- Snow Cat Operator Night work grooming slopes; prior grooming and snow cat operation experience is a plus. Training available.
- Mechanic Hydraulic and diesel mechanic experience required; own tools. Periodic limited openings.
Heavenly Lake Tahoe Vacations/Central Reservations
Our lake tahoe vacation coordinators make the first steps of visiting our resort easy and enjoyable for the guest. Reservation agents arrange travel to and within the Lake Tahoe area, book accommodations, pre-purchase lift tickets, and other activities. Agents must have computer experience, enjoy working with the public, and possess excellent communication skills. Limited positions available and training begins in September.
- Vacation Coordinator,
Call
Center
Agent—Answer telephone calls, assist with switchboard calls, give general resort information. Their main job is to sell lodging and lift ticket packages to bring skiers and riders to Heavenly Mountain Resort. At times Agents will be asked to book Children’s
Ski
School
reservations. Other products may be added to the package to fulfill the customers’ needs and increase the value of the package, i.e. air transportation, bus transfers, car rental, equipment rental and lessons.
- PBX Switchboard operator—A seasonal switchboard operator to assist the above position when needed throughout the ski season. This person will also assist with clerical duties.

Call
Center
Agent—Will assist other call center agents in handling customer service issues and/or ski school problems. Assists with training and monitoring of agents’ performance. Communicates daily with the ski school administrative office throughout the skis season.
- Ski School Call Center Agent—Answer telephone calls to provide general information about the
Lake Tahoe
area, Heavenly Mountain Resort and detailed information about the ski schools of Heavenly to assist client through the reservation process.
Ski School
It is the goal of the Heavenly Ski and Snowboard school to be one of the premier development centers in the country. Our pros must demonstrate a professional appearance, positive work attitude, excellent communication skills and basic levels of the skiing/riding model. In addition, we believe in treating all Heavenly guests and employees with the utmost respect at all times. Clinics are held in a winter environment; therefore, our staff must be prepared and enjoy working outdoors in all conditions.
- Ski Pro/Snowboard Pro Wages dependent on PSIA Certification status and experience or ISIA equivalent; teach skiing/boarding to adults/children of all skill levels. PSIA certification is required or successful completion of the "Basic Training"�clinic offered by Heavenly.
- Assistant Coach Assist Pro's in the Children's Ski and Snowboard school with group lessons; transportation of children; sanitation; meal prep and basic surface lift operations.
- Ski School Cashier Sell ski or snowboard lesson packages to all levels of skiers/boarders; close contact with Ticket department; cash handling experience required.
- Reservation Agent Answers telephone for guests booking Ski School Adult/Kids private lessons, Specialty Clinics, and gives information to guests regarding all Ski School products, as well as general Heavenly infomration.� Must have basic computer knowledge; some typing skills preferred but not necessary.
Day Care
Our California state licensed Day Care facility accepts children from the ages of six weeks to six years old. Day care providers and aides must be trustworthy, reliable, enjoy working with children and interact well with the parents of the facility participants. Applicants with coaching experience are welcome. Limited positions available. Employment with the Day Care facility is contingent upon clearance of a background check.
- Day Care Provider Supervise care of infants and children; organize daily activities; sanitation and meal preparation. Must have 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education. Two years experience in a center-based organization is preferred. Providers may coach an introductory ski lesson for three and four year olds. Training is provided. No prior ski experience needed.
- Day Care Aide Assist providers with care of infants and children; participate in children's activities; sanitation and meal preparation. Aides must be at least 18 years of age and have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior day care experience is not required, but preferred. Aides may coach an introductory ski lesson for three and four year olds. Training is provided. No prior ski experience needed.
Ticket Services
Ticket Seller Sell tickets to guests and balance day's work; cash handling experience preferred. Ticket sellers are among the first people to greet our guests and can help start their day off in a positive manner. A positive, cordial personality and the ability to account accurately for money received and exchanged are necessary.
- Ticket Checker Check customer tickets/passes; ensure proper purchase of ticket and pass use by the correct person; assist in line control. Heavy customer contact; must have a friendly, patient, helpful attitude at all times and be able to defuse problems as they arise. Ticket checkers must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
